Poptart Monkeys - "Just Like Me" CD Review
PTM's second release; "Just Like Me",is creatively innovative and contains
many different styles and influences.
This CD is much harder and heavier than it's predecessor "Dancing With My
Lunatic", evident by the ripping guitar chords on the album's first 3
tracks. The title track, along with "Voices" and "Nashville Hooker" will
have your fingers forming the devil's hoof and and pumping your fist in the
air.
Aside from the heavier tracks on the album, there are also some melodic
tunes such as the ballad "Superhero", and "This Trip".
I love the witty lyrics on this CD, particularly in tracks 4 and 12. There
is also a hidden bonus track titled "Thrift Store Chair", which may remind
you of any past unhealthy relationships you may have had.
"Just Like Me" rocks from start to finish, and many of the songs are those
of such that may be stuck in your head for days on end.
Look for the Poptart Monkey's 3rd release to be out by the end of August.
