Spotlight - Scarred For Life
Scarred For Life's debut album, "Victimizing The Masses," clocks in at a
little over half an hour. It might be short by some standards, but, if
you've heard this album, you should be amazed at all they accomplish in
such a short time. Scarred For Life is pure, musical aggression. A full
blown shot of sonic fury that goes straight for the throat. They kick your
ass and they offer no apology for doing so. What really makes them unique,
and those of you who have seen them live can back this statement up, is the
fact that they have a DJ in the line up. I remember seeing them live for
the first time and I was like, "Is that a DJ up there?" I was totally blown
away. Vocalist Joey Keefer is armed with a dangerous weapon...his voice. He
rips into each song like his heart is about to burst. I'm waiting for him
to just blow up on stage one day. If you've seen him perform, you're
probably thinking, "Yeah, that's possible."
Another thing that stands out about Scarred For Life is the fact that, as a
musical unit, they're so together, which only seems to enhance the
brutality of their aggression. They're quickly becoming one of the heavy
weights in the local scene and it won't be too long before they take their
assault out on the whole world. With all the noise they're making, it's
only a matter of time before someone takes notice and offers them a deal.
