Mad Revere
I've known guitarist Leo Nessinger for a few years now.
I lost touch with him for a few months and, prior to the MMC,
I happened to catch a post on the message board that mentioned
that he was in Mad Revere. The person who made the post, however,
didn't bother to mention a web page address. So, I got online,
did a quick search and I found what I was looking for. Before
I got in touch, I downloaded the three song demo they had up on
their web page so I could hear what they had to offer.
The demo in question featured "Daze," "New Light" and "Shot Clock."
I can use a simple term to describe their music...it's hard rock.
But, they've got a cool vibe going and, yes, they've got a somewhat
unique sound. Well, let's put it this way...they take a sound that
has been done before. But, they make it sound fresh and exciting and,
once you hear these songs, especially "Daze," they stick with you.
For those of you who picked up the MMC compilation disc, be
sure to check out "New Light," which is featured on disc two.
I caught most of their set at MMC and I thought they put on one
hell of a performance. Leo has really grown as a guitarist and
the vocalist had a rather impressive stage presence, even though
he was having trouble with his microphone. I thought the band
as a whole was really strong and if they stick with it, I think
they could become a major force in the Pennsylvania music scene.
I'm looking forward to hearing more from this band and,
hopefully, I'll be able to get out and catch a full show because
I'd really like to see them again.
