Echotown - Jeff Willoughby
Since The Badlees have a new record out and the Hybrid Ice
reunion is in full swing, I thought I would say a few words
about this disc since it features members of both groups.
Okay, so, what can you expect from this release? Well,
it's country music with a more modern sound and one foot
in the world of rock 'n' roll. I'm not a huge fan of country music,
but, I can sink my teeth into this release because it's a
good album and it would seem to me that the focus here was the
music. Obviously, this release features some of the best
musicians in this area, so, right off the bat, you know it's
gonna be a good release and, yes, with the different styles
of music here, you can expect a good variety from song to song,
different emotions, different vibes, but, there is one thing that's
the same and that's the high quality musicianship. You can
tell these guys have been around the block more than once,
that's for sure. Highlights include "Been So Long," "I Liked
You Better" and "A Dinner With Richard Petty."

Since I mentioned Hybrid Ice, you might wanna check out
some solo material by bassist Jeff Willoughby. If you're
expecting the kind of material that can be found on the
two Hybrid Ice albums, well, you might be a bit
disappointed because that's not what you'll find here.
There's a lot of variety and, best of all, these are all
free tunes. So, open your mind and listen to something
different for once. It might suprise you.
