Love ballads, hard metal, booty dances, and Michael Jackson. Those are just a few words that can sum up the show you are about to see when going to a Halestorm performance. Actually, it's quite impossible to sum up their live show in one sentence…if you have yet to see these guys (and girl) you're in for quite a surprise.

Arriving at the Midtown Tavern with my parents, we said hello to the Stormers and ordered dinner…of course my parents got the infamous Midtown Tavern wings. I'm not an eater o' wings, but my parents said they were excellent so I guess they do live up to their wing high status.

Almost all usual posse was at the show…Shel, Tommy & Bracquel, the moms, Ashley, and many more devoted fans…Roger's friendly brother and his son were among the crowd as well.

The show had many highlights that definitely made it the best show of theirs that I've ever seen (so far). Liz was working the crowd as usual and a mini-head banging section formed, as the adorable Bracquel danced along and blew bubbles. At one point, Liz sang her amusing "Oops I did it again" parody as Roger and Arejay (clad in white gloves) provided her with dance moves from various decades.

Nate usually hides to the side of the stage during the Britney amusement, but something let that boy loose tonight and he shocked the crowd with a sudden Sisqo-esque booty dance! Not only did he break out on the dance moves, but he also let his inner Michael Jackson out and sang backup during their cover of "Smooth Criminal." Either the Midtown Tavern has something i n their water, or he just decided to break out of his shell of shyness. Speaking of Shel, she was there of course, supporting them at their merchandise table, which now includes a brand new t-shirt with quite a cool design.

After all three sets came to a conclusion of flashing lights, Arejay's final beats of the drum, and the heavy roar of the crowd, we took some time to chat until being asked to leave…I think I've turned my parents into bar-loving, Halestorm fanatics!!…not that that's a bad thing.

On October 5th, Halestorm will begin their "Power of Youth" concert series, which is dedicated to the younger generation to promote a positive view on life without all of the drugs, violence, and alcohol. They will be touring around as many high schools as possible to spread the word that to be an individual you don't have to do these things. No Limit Entertainment, PA Musician, and Origivation.com are joining together to host the kick off event. At 9:30 the doors open to the public, for the all age concert at the Eagle's Club at 16 North 8th street in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. If you would like to purchase advance tickets for only $5.00, email me at snlgal@aol.com. Tickets will be $6.00 at the door. For more information, be sure to tune into 97.3 The River on September 16th and 30th from 10 PM to midnight when Melanie and I will be on the Homegrown radio show, along with PA Musician's Shel Hoachlander to discuss the event as well as other local music related issues.
