Luv Gods
|
|
|
The Luv Gods
- We started playing way back in 2003. For those of you that can't count,
thats a few years ago. We're all veteran players. Some of us even know each other.
We're having fun playing, entertaining you and earning every cover charge. In return
you entertain us by smiling, dancing and keeping most of your body parts in your clothes.
There's some things we tolerate, like telling us what to play. Then there's some things we
won't tolerate, like telling us how to play it. We'll take care of that end.
Featuring Shea & Steve Zero from the Sharks.

The Thrives
|

Kheris
|
|
The Thrives
- The Thrives can best be described as an indy-power-pop trio clearly influenced by the music of the 80’s and 90’s. The three members, David Kemper, John Bolling and Brad Stackpole started playing together back in 1995 in a band only slightly known in the Harrisburg area called Lunarshade. After a few years of other projects or lack there-of, they have become musically reacquainted. Kemper as singer, song writer and rythm guitar player understands the power of a pithy word simply attached to a catchy melody. His visual descriptions of love and relationship are earthy, sensual, unique and somehow universal. Listen for the dynamic juxtoposition between sweet melodies wrapped around yearning lyrics and breakthrough declarations of tongue-in-cheek-angst-ridden-imperfection. John Bolling's relaxed and consistent bass playing is backed up by years of listening to the great bands from across the pond. Fans have learned to watch for his sheepish smile as he gets wrapped up in the joy of performing. Finally, there is the famous Brad Stackpole on drums. He has sat in with quite a few local groups from Deviation Theory to his recent project with A Utopian Skyline (formerly The Midnight Drive), along with his valued participation with The Thrives. Brad’s influences are the most diverse of the group. He is more than accomplished at playing Latin, Jazz, Rock and Metal in addition to other styles.
Kheris
- There is still good left in this world, and in the realm of Rock. We are a tribute to the redemption of love, triumph over evil, and the tranquility after the storm of hardship. We aim to craft music with energy and depth of emotion that has seemingly left the airwaves. Rock is alive underground. We are digging in the trenches with the other unkown soldiers. Some may call it accident, others fate, but we believe that God brought us together. Steve and Keith were first introduced 26 years ago when Keith was born. Naturally, growing up together under the same roof, they have mutually influenced each other in a monumental way. Rob met Steve at a Jove show and was uplifted that rock was still alive and it was local. Months later, after a chance meeting at Shanks tavern where Rob helps host a blues jam, it was realized that he could possibly be the bassplayer for the two guitar-slinging singers. In a search for a drummer, and to have a good time, they happened apon Aaron at a thursday night open-mic jam at the Alley Kat. His nonconventional style and zeal made him the latest addition to the group.

HotWingJones
|
|
Jefferson Pepper and the Varmints in Heaven
- Jefferson Pepper has been writing heartfelt songs for over twenty years;
classic, quirky, difficult-to-define, earthy, socially-conscious songs deeply rooted
in the working-class America in which he developed his art. Growing up in the Bible Belt,
blue collar suburbs of south-central Pennsylvania was a perfect incubator for his tunes
about isolation, loss, the inevitable finality of existence, the changing socioeconomic
landscape of America and other lighthearted topics.
HotWingJones
- HotWingJones is a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-based four-piece rock band. HotWingJones
is about good songs, sincerity, having fun, and above all, being the world’s most
punctual band. HotWingJones was voted by the readers of Harrisburg Magazine as
“Simply the Best” Local Band in 2004 & 2005 and "Readers' Choice" Local Band for 2006.
HWJ recently had the honor of recording at Saturation Acres, a studio noted for its
production of singer-songwriters, up and coming artists and national acts. With the
venerable Bret Alexander (of The Badlees and The Cellarbirds) as their producer,
the band assembled an eclectic blend of road-tested original tunes that they released
as an EP CD in May at Gullifty's Underground under the title “Saturated”.

The Feds
- "The Feds
are one of the few modern bands that can
bring the energy and fun of an
arena rock show to a stage of any size.
They have been a Dallas staple
for years, selling out shows regionally.
With the new release of their self-titled EP produced by Alex Gerst and Dave Castell
(Blue October, Burden Brothers), The Feds are preparing to take their brand of
music to a national stage. They have already sold over 1500
through touring, and recently shipped to retail. Picking up
impressive college radio support
throughout the region including KTXT, KRSC, KABF and many more.
After sharing a stage with the likes of
Hoobastank, Disturbed, Finch, Velvet Revolver
and the entire Warped Tour line up,
The Feds have proven they can not only hold their own, but
put on a live show that puts most major label acts to shame.

The Mint
- Formed in the winter of 2001 as a recording project, THE MINT has grown to be so much more. In the space of time since then, THE MINT has grown from a hopeful idea, to a realized destiny. With their passionate and unique live shows they have won over audiences at home, as well at national festivals, and every show in between. Some will hear influences of anything from the Cure and Coldplay, to Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World, but however you choose to label the sound, two words always seem to come to mind with those who have seen them; honest and passionate.
Grandview
- Grandview is a four piece rock ensemble out of Carlisle, PA. Since their start in the Fall of 2000, Grandview has honed their sound and have been playing shows in the surrounding South Central Pennsylvania region. They’ve been busy promoting their debut album, Life Under the Sun, by playing festivals and shows with bands such as Andrew W.K., P.O.D., Brandston, MXPX, Further Seems Forever, and The Juliana Theory. Life Under the Sun was released in September 2004 both regionally and internationally through iTunes, iTunes Europe, iTunes UK, iTunes Canada, Napster, as well as in the North East Region in select Barnes and Noble stores.
Cori Yarckin
- Bursting onto the music scene with her uncompromising 2005 debut album
Ringing in My Head, Orlando native Cori Yarckin has defined herself as an engagingly
original artist. Her propulsive songcraft blends confessional lyrics with modern rock
attitude and sharp pop melodies, offering a radio-ready sound that is often compared to
a modern day Pat Benatar. On record, or through her breathtaking live show, Cori Yarckin
soars with passion and intensity of a young artist set to leave her mark on music
fans in need of a fresh voice.

Solar Staredown
- it's 7 am. you're still feeling a little banged up from the night before,
but you've come too far to let that stop you now. you've got some unfinished
business to settle, and it's staring you right in the face. 2 ex Mad Revere (Robby and Freddy).
Their first show.
A Utopian Skyline
- "A Utopian Skyline is freaking awesome. They’re a metal band for
people who don’t like metal; a hardcore band for people who are
scared of hardcore; and a prog-rock band for people who would
rather drink toilet water than listen to Rush. They are proof
that art, angst and amplification are not mutually exclusive
concepts. ... Labeling A Utopian Skyline is kind of futile.
The band skips around from math-rock rhythms to hardcore
grooves to unapologetic metal riffage with such blinding
speed that any label you slap on them - “prog-rock,” “emo,”
“metal” - will only apply for about 30 seconds." Jeff Royer - Fly Magazine

the unforgettable melody, the crafted solo that many who have been sucked
into the dreary world of the image conscious have missed. Or to quote Peter
Bothum of Rockpile magazine: "With such a true-blue batch of solid rock songs,
timing is irrelevant."

Blonde Hair Blue Eyes
- With a pleasant assault of brash rock-n-roll, definitive pop structure, and murky, narrative lyrics, Blonde Hair Blue Eyes and their sexy forensic rock have been steadily digging into the arm fat of the indie rock community. The band is fronted by lead singer Val Yumm, whose voice, which comes lustily from the gut, has the remarkable ability to instantly go from innocent and unaffected to forceful and commanding. And whether or not she is at her tamest singing lines like "It sounds like Im losing my voice, it looks like Im going blind", or her most potent singing "Its the serial killers handwriting that gives it away", her sense of melody is something to which every listener can connect.

Case 150
- CASE 150 is a motley ensemble of five well seasoned musicians.
With musical backgrounds that have touched on everything from Classical to Jazz,
Cowboy to Punk, and New Wave to Art Rock . The band has its roots firmly planted
in the rock of Rock 'n Roll and it's heart & soul is filled with the pure sprit
of our founding forefathers ( Jimmy Rogers, Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzel, Merle Haggard,
Gram Parsons, Neil Young, est.,) You throw all that in a blender with some twanging guitars,
some mandolin, banjo and a sick & twisted steel guitar. You give it a solid back beat and
cover it with a few layers of vocal harmonies. My friend, you have CASE 150.

The Royal Malcontents
- We're restless and we're going to tell you about it. We're not afraid but sometimes
we still shake a little bit. We're all runners but no one seems to be chasing us.
We have issues and they are all unresolved. No one is alone, but sometimes the crowded
streets seem terribly lonesome. Bare with us. Songs have been written. Songs have been
recorded. We aren't all that confident, and we don't exude a measure of professionality
that we probably should, but we do feel that the importance of honest is tantamount.
So, we're ok with not being that confident. Lets make "my"space, "our"space. In that spirit,
if you like what you hear, please tell your friends and spread some music around.
If you don't like what you hear, please find some other group of musicians you can
put your full support behind. I recommend Raise Up Roof Beams, The Green Trees Band,
The Shakletons, Tiger Saw, and Real Live Tigers. Music=community=hope.

Jefferson Pepper and the Varmints in Heaven

blue collar suburbs of south-central Pennsylvania was a perfect incubator for his tunes
about isolation, loss, the inevitable finality of existence, the changing socioeconomic
landscape of America and other lighthearted topics.
The Trespassengers
- Drawing on such diverse influences as The Who, Neil Young, and Camper Van Beethoven.
Trespassengers combine a modern sonic texture with song writing generally associated
with the singer-songwriter format. Ned’s fiddle adds an element that is both classic –
and refreshing in contrast with much of today’s alternative rock. Combining aspects of
modern and classic, Trespassengers music is appealing to younger audiences fed up with
pop-punk searching for something to identify with intellectually, and also older audiences
who have listened to the same classic rock albums for years and want something different.
Trespassengers fit in an emerging genre of music that includes bands such as Wilco,
My Morning Jacket and Son Volt. Some critics have compared our music to The Eagles,
The Jayhawks, and Neil Young. Music that isn't brazen, or over the top in anyway.
Just a few chords strung together that stick in your head, the kind you find yourself
whistling days later.
