Lake Trout

Secret Machines

Lake Trout - Good luck trying to pigeonhole Lake Trout. As intent as the music press is to affix labels, this band's music truly resists categorization. On the band's new Rx/Palm label debut, Another One Lost, this accomplished songwriting fivesome mine wholly uncharted terrain. The album's rock experimentalism will quite naturally elicit comparisons to The Talking Heads, The Pixies, Pink Floyd, and Sonic Youth. But the live drums somehow manage to evoke both John Bonham's thunder and Aphex Twin's drum machine. Elsewhere moody atmospherics will recall Amon Tobin, Kool Keith, and DJ shadow. While the groups sonic explorations bring to mind Steve Reich and Brian Eno. Their live shows are legendary and have helped the band develop a diverse fanbase, which is why established acts as disparate as Queens of the Stone Age, Amon Tobin, Live, The Dismemberment Plan, Ben Harper, Soul Coughing, Cursive and many others have all shared their stage with Lake Trout. A Gullifty's favorite.
The Secret Machines - Secret Machines posses a breadth of vision in their songwriting which is profoundly rare. The music unfurls sprawling landscapes where splashes of organ and shards of reverbed guitars lead the listener down a trippy path. Yet if at first the Secret Machine¹s disposition is calm and reserved, it later expands, layer by layer, until their musical terrain becomes laden with colorful melodies, counter harmonies and coyly poignant lyrics. Recently signed to Sire Records, the NYC based Psychedelic trio has toured with Trail of Dead, toured internationally, amongst many notable accomplishments. First time at Gullifty's.

Seventh Hour

No Refill - In 2001 on Christmas Eve, No-Refill made their first public appearance at Gulliftys Night Club with Julian Fist. A month later they performed at the Sixth Annual Millennium Music Conference. After their second performance as a band, they found themselves being offered a slot on the Snow Blast 2002 bill. The line up included Tantric, Jimmies Chicken Shack, Familiar 48 and more. After Snow blast 2002, No-Refill has performed a remarkable amount of shows in The Local Area, MD and NY. They went a head and shared the bill with Jimmies Chicken Shack (three more times), 2 Skinnee J’s, From Zero, Jeppetto, Jimmy Young & the Restless and a tone of local favorites.
Seventh Hour - Honest Original Unprecedented Rock. These are just a few adjectives to describe Seventh Hour's sound. This is hard rock at it's finest, incorporating catchy choruses, seamless harmonies, and flawless execution. Inspired by bands such as Finger 11, Fuel, Pink Floyd, Rush and Led Zeppelin, these 4 musicians mix it all together for one superior sound.

Planeside has recieved airplay on commercial & college radio, and continue to build a strong following. NY based Post-Hardcore / Rock. 1st time at Gullifty's.
The Milwaukees - Lollipop - "One of the last and finest practitioners of good ol’ emotional post-punk, The Milwaukees never disappoint. This is a Stickup is perhaps the band’s best, pouring every ounce of strength into (old) Elliott-like anthems that recall the best of Joshua as well. Thick yet well-thought out riffs, courtesy of producer John Agnello, delivering most of the punches here. But guitarist/vocalist Dylan stands out as the tower in this fortress with simply gut-wrenching howls. This is how punk can be emotional, not Dashboard Confessional." From New Jersey, 1st time at Gullifty's.

Darcie Miner Band

Gullifty's Downstairs
Red Room

Darcie Miner Band - Influential Philadelphia station WXPN named Darcie one of its Artists to Watch in 2003. Darcie and her band made history by performing on MTV’s Advance Warning as the first unsigned act ever to play in prime-time on the channel. Darcie also made an appearance on the new Star Search, hosted by Arsenio Hall, where she finished second in a controversial decision. The Darcie Miner Band logged in a hectic touring schedule which saw them build a strong regional following along the Atlantic seaboard, opening for the likes of Edwin McCain, Patty Griffin, Heart, Richard Thompson, Jeffrey Gaines, Wyclef Jean, Beth Hart and Jeffrey Gaines. The delightful Darcie is a Gullifty's favorite.
Red Room - Red Room is a rock band that is made up of four dedicated and talented musicians from Mechanicsburg, PA. Their energetic, diverse, original music always leaves audiences wanting more. They are definitely a must see. Buds with the delightful Darcie Miner.
Shea Quinn - A.J. Cassatt - Shea's a local legend and Gullifty's favorite, playing with bands over the years such as the Sharks, Jet Silver, the Luv Gods.

Hexbelt

Hexbelt - Hexbelt has the ability to cut across political, social, and economic boundaries to reach the masses. A peer in a crowd at a Hexbelt show would reveal a cross section of society, with baby boomers, neo-hippies, punks, blue collars, yuppies and the like; all jamming together as one. Hexbelt truly is a unique band in an age of increasingly generic modern music.

We have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to play in different cities every night and hang out with people that want to have fun. It doesn't matter if it's 80's, 90's, Tool, Sublime, or Puff Daddy, our goal is to create energy.

The Underwater

Gullifty's Downstairs
Bridges And A Bottle

The Underwater - Absolutely fantastic band from York, PA. This is their 2nd show back from a 2 month tour of Europe. Compared to The Juliana Theory, Placebo, Cave-In, Foo Fighters, Filter, Hoobastank, Thrice. Emotional, melodic guitar rock. "THE UNDERWATER could easily become one of rock's brightest stars as "Bleed Me Blue" contains some exceptional moments." Smother.net Yup, they could be huge, massive. Catch em here while you still can. Much of 2004 will be tours, more US, and more Europe.
Bridges And A Bottle - A great drawing band at Gullifty's, part Jam Band, part Pearl Jam, part Goo Goo Dolls / Matchbox 20. 2 lead singers.
