Revolver del' Angelo
|
|
A Utopian Skyline
- "A Utopian Skyline is freaking awesome. They’re a metal band for people
who don’t like metal; a hardcore band for people who are scared of hardcore;
and a prog-rock band for people who would rather drink toilet water than
listen to Rush. They are proof that art, angst and amplification are not
mutually exclusive concepts. ...
Labeling A Utopian Skyline is kind of futile. The band skips around from math-rock
rhythms to hardcore grooves to unapologetic metal riffage with such blinding speed
that any label you slap on them – “prog-rock,” “emo,” “metal” – will only apply for
about 30 seconds." Jeff Royer - Fly Magazine
Revolver del' Angelo
- So uhh there are these 3 dudes that used to make up the band
Lessons For Liars (anyone remember those fucks?) and the one
broke his collar bone and then they all suddenly became
poor so they couldn't press their latest album. They
thought it was a cool album so they were pissed. All
that hard work for nothing right? So they regrouped and
wrote some more songs a few months later and realized
that they didn't sound like the same songs they had been
writing before. It must be the weed, they thought, or maybe
the alcohol, but either way something changed and they decided
to get these two other dudes to join the band in an attempt to
further diversify their sound. Now it is only two members from
lessons for liars and a new bass player known as "Stan". Now
the ugly demon that is Revolver del' Angelo is born, and it's
hungry..................like the wolf. look out now

- Absolutely fantastic band from York/Harrisburg, PA. Compared to Muse, The Juliana Theory,
Placebo, Cave-In, Foo Fighters, Filter, Hoobastank, Thrice. Emotional, melodic guitar rock.

some exceptional moments." Smother.net Yup, they should be huge, massive.

The Underwater
- Absolutely fantastic band from York/Harrisburg, PA. Compared to Muse, The Juliana Theory,
Placebo, Cave-In, Foo Fighters, Filter, Hoobastank, Thrice. Emotional, melodic guitar rock.
"THE UNDERWATER could easily become one of rock's brightest stars as "Bleed Me Blue" contains

Rectifier
- Who says rock is dead? The Harrisburg-based band rectifier appears ready
and able to take on the challenge of adding another chapter to the book of rock.
Combining harmonized melodies, introspective lyrics and undeniable grooves,
rectifier takes a blank canvas and creates a sonic rock masterpiece that
generates an addiction to the soul.
Anthrophobia
- Anthrophobia still exists for a few basic primal reasons: the band are at the
top of their game, kicking ass live, have just released their best set of
music to date; and most importantly, still enjoy playing and creating music
together. After 14 months of writing, demoing, recording, rerecording, mixing
and mastering, Anthrophobia have finally released a cd that they feel accurately
represents them as a rock entity. Magnetic incorporates inspirations and elements
from all of the previous 'phobia catalog, taking experiments and risks within
the band's creative walls, as well as pushing them to new limits.

Umbra Within
- Umbra Within was founded by guitarist and composer Justin Clauser.
After the all too common line-up shuffling that nascent bands endure, a
stable line-up was found in early 2004. The band's principle endeavor is
exploration. We strive to cultivate a sound free from narrow-mindedness
and redundancy. Ultimately, we focus on collective maturation more then
any pinpoint on our timeline so we cannot promise to ever be the same
band we are today. To those intrigued and those intrepid, we cordially
invite you to experience the flux.

Artists to Watch in 2003. Darcie and her band made history by performing on MTV’s Advance
Warning as the first unsigned act ever to play in prime-time on the channel. Darcie also
made an appearance on the new Star Search, hosted by Arsenio Hall, where she finished
second in a controversial decision. The Darcie Miner Band logged in a hectic touring
schedule which saw them build a strong regional following along the Atlantic seaboard,
opening for the likes of Edwin McCain, Patty Griffin, Heart, Richard Thompson, Jeffrey

- The BlueZers, recently voted `Simply the Best Band` in the Harrisburg Magazine 2004
Readers Poll, will bring their high energy show to Gullifty's. The BlueZers are a
Harrisburg, PA-based Rock band with lots of blues influences. The band serves up a
blues-infused, rock and roll stew of tunes from Robert Johnson to The Rolling Stones,
and from John Lee Hooker to Jimi Hendrix, with about a dozen originals thrown in the mix!
Though each band member comes from diverse musical backgrounds, they all share one thing--a
love of the blues and the music it inspired, both old and new, in its many forms. If
you haven't been lucky enough to catch The BlueZers already, come on out--ease into a
chair--sit back--and, have one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer. John Lee would have
wanted it that way!

Lotus Blue
- Lotus Blue is a rock quartet from deep in the heart of central Pennsylvania.
While being compared to Jimmy Eat World, Chevelle and Filter, each member has an
individual style that adds to a new original creation of rock madness. All members
have been performing for years in various other bands (Mad Revere, Reno Fontaine,
Rats from the Bay) and have finally joined forces to form the culmination of
everything that rocks, known as Lotus Blue. Experience true blue.
The Thrives
- The Thrives can best be described as an indy-power-pop trio clearly influenced
by the music of the 80’s and 90’s. The three members, David Kemper, John Bolling
and Brad Stackpole started playing together back in 1995 in a band only slightly
known in the Harrisburg area called Lunarshade. After a few years of other
projects or lack there-of, they have become musically reacquainted. Kemper
as singer, song writer and rythm guitar player understands the power of a
pithy word simply attached to a catchy melody. His visual descriptions of
love and relationship are earthy, sensual, unique and somehow universal.
Listen for the dynamic juxtoposition between sweet melodies wrapped
around yearning lyrics and breakthrough declarations of
tongue-in-cheek-angst-ridden-imperfection. John Bolling's
relaxed and consistent bass playing is backed up by years of listening
to the great bands from across the pond. Fans have learned to watch for
his sheepish smile as he gets wrapped up in the joy of performing.
Finally, there is the famous Brad Stackpole on drums. He has sat
in with quite a few local groups from Deviation Theory to his recent
project with A Utopian Skyline (formerly The Midnight Drive), along
with his valued participation with The Thrives. Brad’s influences
are the most diverse of the group. He is more than accomplished at
playing Latin, Jazz, Rock and Metal in addition to other styles.

Off The Wagon

Jupiter Sunrise
- Sounds Like - In magazines we've been compared to: Weezer, the Who, The Beatles,
Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, the Flaming Lips, Ozma,
Husker Du, the Stereo, and Cave In.... etc.
Played the MySpace stage on Warped Tour.
Via Satellite
- Now that we're too old for mohawks, we're more rockpunk than punkrock.
We enjoy faster than fast, and slower than slows. It's mostly a riff band
with our song structure being compared to early VH, building songs around
riffs rather than composing "music". And although there is a lot of screaming
there is enough of the softer side of rock. Melody meets metal... Didn't Metal
Church already prove that?
Off the Wagon
- After a 4 year hiatus, Off The Wagon rides again. Mixing their barnburnin'
hillbilly sound with more original rock n roll than you can shake a stick at,
OTW is back and badder than ever.

Hexbelt
- Hexbelt has the ability to cut across political, social, and economic
boundaries to reach the masses. A peer in a crowd at a Hexbelt show would
reveal a cross section of society, with baby boomers, neo-hippies, punks,
blue collars, yuppies and the like; all jamming together as one. Hexbelt
truly is a unique band in an age of increasingly generic modern music.

The Lookies

Whiskey Business
|
Martini Bros
- for the past eleven years Deuce Gibb, Mike Mead, Rej Troup and Chad Matson
have taken us on one hell of a ride. after only three practices, they recorded
their first demo with Steve Ward and proceeded to open for "LIVE" in hersheypark
stadium to a crowd of 17,000 screaming fans. playing a medley of rockabilly, surf
and garage music, they became the "buzz band" of '95. Two years later they
suffered the tragic, accidental death of their drummer and founding member,
Chad Matson, but were determined to prevail with one consistent thought: to
play great rock n' roll. Since then, the martini bros have played with Reverend
Horton Heat, Dick Dale, Hank Williams III, Lee Rocker of The Stray Cats, and
Johnny Winter, just to name a few. they've collaborated with national recording
artist, Jeffrey Gaines, and have played coast-to-coast: from new york city to
los angeles, nashville to the jersey shore, roof tops to trains, and riverboats
to nearly every bar in Central PA.
The Lookies
- Code name – The Lookies ie: “rum’s new band” The rummager, seminal noise
rock drummer (Velvet Monkeys, Half Japanese, B.A.L.L., gumball, dinosaur jr.)
is back with a new project and is ready to rock the nation. It’s back to the
basics, no pretensions – no nothing, just straight forward rock and roll.
Joined by his compadres red and dex (sugarhed, head upsetters) they are
ready to rock your town. The Lookies hail from Harrisburg, PA home of
TMI and that’s about it! Also, Ex Team Shorty, Shorty Porters
Brother Boys
Whiskey Business
- Whiskey Business formed in 2004 after long-time friends Scott Keck,
CH Lehr, Nick Hein and Mike Hein decided to get together and get serious.
They'd all jammed with each other before and had been friends since they were little kids.
CH sings on some of Whiskey's songs, while Nick sings lead on others.
Nick also plays the bass guitar and can play slap bass like Les Claypool.
Mike sings lead on one or two songs and sings backups to others. He and CH rotate
between lead and rhythm guitar. Scott drums his heart out and is the personality
behind the band. He's the one who got Whiskey Business together.

Bridges and a Bottle

Tim Wright
|
|
Bridges And A Bottle
- Exploding out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Bridges and a Bottle have added
an exciting new sound to the region’s music scene with their soulful singing,
introspective lyrics, and rock-out live performances. With their self-titled
independent release, Bridges and a Bottle create deeply moving and uniquely
captivating rock music with an edge. With a talent to create hit songs, the
band also knows how to deliver diverse sounds from smooth ballads to raw
energy with extraordinary depth.
Tim Wright
- Having just released his debut solo album, "Books I Haven't Read," Tim Wright is gearing up for a trip down the long road ahead of him. It's a road that many travel, but few reach their destination: a road known as the music business...
Hailing from Emporium, PA, a quaint, little town hidden in the mountains of North central Pennsylvania, Tim spent the last year (Sept. 2004- Sept. 2005) in Hollywood, CA writing and recording his new album. He cut his “musical” teeth playing in several rock and punk bands during his early teen years, and regularly playing worship and Gospel music at his local church.
“My music is 100% passion. This probably comes from years of playing punk rock, loving the blues, and listening to Gospel music since the day I was born. Throw all those in a blender, and out comes something interesting, crazy, and full of soul…something like me,” says Tim.
Through a pure heart and a desire to change people’s lives through his music, this man is on a fast track to success. Tim Wright proves to be an artist whose music grabs the soul of the listener and takes them on a journey.
If this is Tim Wright now, the future should be very interesting!
