Captain Amazing

Gullifty's Downstairs
Bailey

Captain Amazing - Captain Amazing is the latest alternative to the cover bands that you might find on the local and regional music scene today. With the combination of the driving rhythm section and the versatile guitars, the tunes delivered are punctuated with hard hitting horn lines, keyboard harmonies, and other percussive effects to bring you a cover band experience unlike no other. You'll hear tunes that you thought had just faded into the background and had become forgotten. Instead, they have been revamped and rebuilt in such a way that you will end up asking these guys for more. Ex Big Tubba Mista.
Bailey - Hailing from Harrisburg, PA, Bailey is a group of friends who enjoy writing and playing original music and covering a few select songs that make you go, "are they really playing a Poison song?" A quick description of the band is..... "Female-fronted rock band". The band's collection of personalities and musical influences creates a sound that falls somewhere in between the Indigo Girls and the Descendents. If that description confused you, then come on out to see us live. We're always looking for new ways to label ourselves (not really).
Saturday, November 6 - Jam
Gullifty's Downstairs
Hexbelt

Hexbelt - Hexbelt has the ability to cut across political, social, and economic boundaries to reach the masses. A peer in a crowd at a Hexbelt show would reveal a cross section of society, with baby boomers, neo-hippies, punks, blue collars, yuppies and the like; all jamming together as one. Hexbelt truly is a unique band in an age of increasingly generic modern music.

The BlueZers

Curbstone & The Rock Hard Horns - Mixing a powerful combination of strong vocals, R & B horn arrangements and a driving rhythm, a seven-member band called Curbstone & the Rock Hard Horns is rapidly emerging in south central Pennsylvania’s entertainment scene. Curbstone & the Rock Hard Horns is serious about music -- and serious about fun -- when the band is serving up its versions of classic Motown soul, popular blues, and jazz-tinged tunes by bands such as Joe Cocker, Chicago, Delbert McClinton, and Santana.
The BlueZers - The BlueZers, recently voted `Simply the Best Band` in the Harrisburg Magazine 2004 Readers Poll, will bring their high energy show to Gullifty's for the first time on Friday, November 12th. Gullifty's is located in the Cedar Cliff Mall off of the New Cumberland exit of I-83. The BlueZers are a Harrisburg, PA-based Rock band with lots of blues influences. The band serves up a blues-infused, rock and roll stew of tunes from Robert Johnson to The Rolling Stones, and from John Lee Hooker to Jimi Hendrix, with about a dozen originals thrown in the mix! Though each band member comes from diverse musical backgrounds, they all share one thing--a love of the blues and the music it inspired, both old and new, in its many forms. If you haven't been lucky enough to catch The BlueZers already, come on out--ease into a chair--sit back--and, have one bourbon, one scotch, and one beer. John Lee would have wanted it that way!

Herbie

The Green Onions - There is a fresh, yet somewhat familiar sound soaring through the cow-filled pastures of Lancaster County. It is the sound of The Green Onions. In these times of flashy musicians, gimmick-based songwriting, and the all too common, "I hate my life," rock bands, The Green Onions are offering an alternative. This band wants to create music for the sake of creating music. Be prepared for hard rocking guitar solos, sturdy song sections, and free-flowing jams.
Herbie - herbie, known for its magical blend of high-energy rock, uptown funk, infectious jams, and heart pounding hip-hop beats, formed in the fall of 2000. The music of herbie is catchy enough to sing along with, groovy enough to dance to, diverse enough to please even the most demanding music fan, and offers a truly unique balance of melody, accessibility, and musicality.

Rectifier

Stargazer Lily - Stargazer Lily is like an amusement park with something for everyone. This 4-piece from Philly packs love, anger, wit, pain, joy and sex into 3-minute rock rides. Susan's sugar sweet melodies and Steph's throaty-rasp take each song on their own musical journey. Scooter's solid backbeat is a perfect fit with Jim's melodic base lines. Fans of Liz Phair, Belly, Beck, Dylan, 10,000 Maniacs, The Beatles and Blondie will enjoy very ounce of Stargazer Lily's passion and imagery. Stargazer Lily has played SXSW, CMJ, NEMO. Definitely a quality band. CD release party for "Young Professionals"
RedRoom - Red Room is a rock band that is made up of four dedicated and talented musicians from Mechanicsburg, PA. Their energetic, diverse, original music always leaves audiences wanting more. They are definitely a must see. Buds with the delightful Darcie Miner.
Rectifier - Rectifier reunites two musicians that are no stranger to the Central PA rock scene. Mitch Taylor and Scott Michajluk burst onto the scene in 1997 as members of Julian Fist. A band known for rich vocals and rock hooks which created a strong local following as well as the attention of radio and music industry professionals.

Doodis

Patchwork Blu

Doodis - There is no real "history" for the beloved Doodis, just a string of circumstances that brought these four completely different individuals together to begin their journey. The original line-up consisted of Mitchell, OP, Scott Crawford (who convinced Mitchell in the winter of 2001 to start playing the bass even though he had never played an instrument before) and Gator. Because of circumstance, Mitchell and OP found themselves needing a drummer and 6-stringer, and along stumbled Shane (from under that rock - remember??) and Jesse. After a few sessions together, it became apparent to us that this foursome could potentially create something pretty special! The guys started playing together in November of 2003, and are getting ready to celebrate their one-year anniversary together (this will be done at the November 20, 2004 show in Harrisburg!) We have been excited with the progress so far and we are looking forward to many more years of enjoying playing music together, and hopefully for you!
Patchwork Blu - You know we aren't these big rock stars, man. We are just like you. I know its hard to believe, but we couldof been the guys living next door to you growing up. Think about it....

Bridges And A Bottle - In a time when most bar owners are struggling to get even 100 people to show up for a truly “all original band”, a true shining star has finally arrived. Exploding out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and adding an exciting new sound to the music scene is an incredibly hot new band by the name of Bridges and a Bottle, also known as BAAB. Bridges and a Bottle is what resulted when six close friends combined their musical talents in the Summer of 2003. The members are inspired by groups like the Beatles and Coldplay. At the core of the band are the two lead singers and brothers: Justin Smith, 24, and Adam Smith, 20. The songs written and sung by Justin reveal a sound similar to Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. Adam’s songs are reminiscent of Nirvana and Oasis. The brother’s vocals are the same in that they convey deep, raw emotion. Both singers pull their lyrics from life, but whereas one leaves certain topics up for interpretation, the other paints a vivid visual of the situation. The differences and similarities of the band members combine to form the eclectic sound of Bridges and a Bottle.
The Badlees - The Badlees, the highly prolific Pennsylvania rock quintet is, first and foremost, a group of fine songwriters and storytellers. Their songs are often highly descriptive and narrative tales crafted through the scope of both observation and imagination. The Badlees are a big Gullifty's favorite, and this show will likely be packed.
The Jellybricks - Longtime heroes of the Harrisburg Power-Pop scene, The Jellybricks have a long list of accomplishments, including opening for Live at Hershey Stadium, multiple performances in Los Angeles at International Pop Overthrow and opening slots for Goo Goo Dolls, 10,000 Maniacs, Seven Mary Three, Sponge, Fuel, Luscious Jackson, Better Than Ezra, The Badlees, They Might Be Giants. Fozzy - WE ARE HUGE ROCK STARS! So proclaims Fozzy, the brainchild of former WWE champion Chris Jericho and former Stuck Mojo mastermind Rich Ward. In three short years Fozzy have become an internationally-known phenom releasing two critically acclaimed records, producing several MTV-aired videos and performing in front of tens of thousands of fans worldwide. Fozzy has built a worldwide following by putting on some of the most energetic, entertaining and musically tight performances to be found on any stage. It may have started with a healthy dose of humor. But what the band discovered after touring the planet is that the world is hungry for metal. More than that, though. The world is hungry for the music and the raw intensity of the live Fozzy experience. When you put your money down for a Fozzy ticket, you're going to go home with sore ears, a tired neck and a smile on your face. It's all about the power of the music and Fozzy is ready to stand toe-to-toe with any of today's so-called "metal" bands.
Balistic - The funny thing about BALISTIC is that they aren't writing songs for 15 year olds! Their metallic progressive rock grooves couch lyrics that hone in on lyricist's Dave Fox's musings about such adult topics as abortion, war, and exploring connections to the spirit world.
Fused - Fused is a high energy, out of control cover rock band based out of Central Pennsylvania, ready to take the stage with a song list that consists of only the best in todays rock cover music. This one of a kind band, presented by Coors Light, offers an elaborate stage show, complimented by its computer driven intelligent lighting system and laser light show! Covering the best of today's popular cover rock music along with some of yesterday's classics as well, FUSED will keep you moving all night long! Come check out FUSED for a great night of live music and fun that you won't soon forget!

Martini Bros - The Martini Bros. have been pounding out their charismatic breed of roots driven Rock 'N Roll, Rockabilly Mayhem, for over seven years. The trio's live performances are legendary in the mid-atlantic region.

One of Gullifty's very favorites.

The Commercials - The Commercials are an emotional indie band from the Harrisburg area. With past album releases and tours under their belt, their experience touring playing, and writing hooks never fails to entertain. You can check out MP3's at www.purevolume.com where they have been selected as one of ten finalists for the Takeover Records Sign My Band Contest. Takeover Records is the label owned by Yellowcard. Voting in the contest starts Nov 15th. Help these hometown boys out!

One of the local gems, with nationwide tours and SXSW under their belt.

Lake Trout

The Underwater
Lake Trout - Good luck trying to pigeonhole Lake Trout. As intent as the music press is to affix labels, this band's music truly resists categorization. On the band's new Rx/Palm label debut, Another One Lost, this accomplished songwriting fivesome mine wholly uncharted terrain. The album's rock experimentalism will quite naturally elicit comparisons to The Talking Heads, The Pixies, Pink Floyd, and Sonic Youth. But the live drums somehow manage to evoke both John Bonham's thunder and Aphex Twin's drum machine. Elsewhere moody atmospherics will recall Amon Tobin, Kool Keith, and DJ shadow. While the groups sonic explorations bring to mind Steve Reich and Brian Eno. Their live shows are legendary and have helped the band develop a diverse fanbase, which is why established acts as disparate as Queens of the Stone Age, Amon Tobin, Live, The Dismemberment Plan, Ben Harper, Soul Coughing, Cursive and many others have all shared their stage with Lake Trout.

A Gullifty's favorite. The played here in May, and they were amazing. jl

The Underwater - Absolutely fantastic band from York/Harrisburg, PA. Compared to Muse, The Juliana Theory, Placebo, Cave-In, Foo Fighters, Filter, Hoobastank, Thrice. Emotional, melodic guitar rock. "THE UNDERWATER could easily become one of rock's brightest stars as "Bleed Me Blue" contains some exceptional moments." Smother.net Yup, they should be huge, massive. Catch em here while you still can.

:-) see this show.
