The Mint
|

722
|
|
The Mint
- Formed in the winter of 2001 as a recording project, THE MINT
has grown to be so much more. In the space of time since then,
THE MINT has grown from a hopeful idea, to a realized destiny.
With their passionate and unique live shows they have won over
audiences at home, as well at national festivals, and every show in between.
Some will hear influences of anything from
the Cure and Coldplay, to Third Eye Blind and Jimmy Eat World, but
however you choose to label the sound, two words always seem to
come to mind with those who have seen them; honest and passionate.
Headlines The Chameleon consistently, playing with Lovedrug in Wilkes-Barre
on 2/9, tours and plays big festivals. Just preselected for the Millennium
Music Conference, this coming June 23-26.
722
- 722 is an eclectic mix of raw Philly talent. Pulling influences
from several directions, the band fuses many musical flavors such as rock,
reggae, and drum and bass with a theatrical ambience.

Bailey
|
|
Julie Schreiber Band
- As a singer/songwriter and guitarist, Julie Schreiber, graduate of
Berklee College of Music, has been performing professionally since 1994.
She has performed at numerous college campuses, coffeehouses, bookstores,
bars, clubs, and festivals, and worked with such artists as: Leni Stern,
The Nields, Ellis Paul, The Badlees, Mary Prankster, Tom Rush, Livingston
Taylor, Vance Gilbert and Richie Havens. Possessing a four-octave range and
the ability to write diverse styles of music, Julie leaves audiences amazed
by her vocal talent and moved by the power and passion of her music.
Bailey
- Hailing from Harrisburg, PA, Bailey is a group of friends
who enjoy writing and playing original music and covering
a few select songs that make you go, "are they really playing a Poison song?"
A quick description of the band is..... "Female-fronted rock band".
The band's collection of personalities and musical influences creates
a sound that falls somewhere in between the Indigo Girls and the
Descendents. If that description confused you, then come on out
to see us live. We're always looking for new ways to
label ourselves (not really)

The April Skies
|

Fith
|
|
The April Skies
- The April Skies are a modern rock/alternative band from Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Formed in the late eighties by a nineteen year old named Jake Crawford,
along with Matt Brace (keyboards), Mike Green (bass), and John Ritchey (drums),
the band immediately gained comparisons to bands like REM, The Cure,
& local favorites The Ocean Blue. In early 2002, Jake Crawford
and new bass player Mark Mazick reformed the band. After several
months, they tracked down Mark Higgins, who promptly resumed his
role on keyboards & guitars. Mark Tritico, who played with the
band throughout the early/mid nineties, returned to the band
as the drummer in August of 2003.
CD Release Party
Fith
- Formed in June of 2002, fith has been packing venues on both
Harrisburg’s East and West shores, playing Modern rock original
and cover material since their August debut as a headline act.
The response has been so great that Elephant & Castle Pub,
Holiday Inn New Cumberland, used the band’s single Sun2Set
for its late October 2003 radio advertising on 93.5 FM WTPA
and guitarist Rob for the voice over. With a massive and loyal
following, the band looks to make a huge splash throughout
Central Pa and beyond in 2004.

Mr. Pink
|
|
|
Mr. Pink
- Mr. Pink emerged on the music scene in Northeast PA in 2003, as a pop punk band.
In Jan 2004, a switch was made in lead singers as Holly joined the group, taking over the
position held by Mr. Blue. With its current lineup in place the decimation began.
Bookings locally skyrocketed, other bands refused to follow Mr. Pink on stage. Show
headliners insisted that Mr. Pink go on after them. It was time to take this show
on the road.

Hexbelt
|
|
|
Hexbelt
- Hexbelt has the ability to cut across political, social, and economic
boundaries to reach the masses. A peer in a crowd at a Hexbelt show
would reveal a cross section of society, with baby boomers, neo-hippies,
punks, blue collars, yuppies and the like; all jamming together as one.
Hexbelt truly is a unique band in an age of increasingly generic modern music.

Worker+Parasite
|

The Expotentials
|
|
Worker+Parasite
- worker+parasite consist of 4 young men from the Harrisburg Pa
area playing a style of avant/noise rock. It is characterised by
complex, atypical rhythmic structures, stop/start dynamics and
angular, dissonant riffs. sort of.
Other shows this month: Bethlehem, Allentown, Pittsburgh, Morgantown, WV
The Expotentials
- The Expotentials are a two-piece assault of your inner ear.
With bombastic rhythm and explosive guitar, Matt Naas and Charles
Joesph Dukehart III will change the way you look at a two-man band.
Both classic and new, The Expotentials weave between blues and garage
based guitar riffs, strong original song writing, and full force
thunderous roar. A typical thought after one of their sets is
"Where is this band from?" or "I didn't think you could replace
the bass player with a 26-inch kick drum?". Don't sell your self short,
indulge.
From Baltimore, play the Talking Head, have a White Stripes sound.

Martini Bros
|

Ironboss
|
|
Martini Bros
- The Martini Bros. have been pounding out their charismatic
breed of roots driven Rock 'N Roll, Rockabilly Mayhem, for years.
The trio's live performances are legendary in the mid-atlantic region.
One of Gullifty's very favorites.
This is a CD/DVD Release Party.
Ironboss
- Ironboss is a veritable hacksaw of a quartet from the hills of Western Maryland.
The band's insistence on jacked up guitar riffs played with hammering, revved up
single-mindedness continues to this day. The single-minded purpose, of course,
for ringleader Chris Rhoten, is matching on guitar the intensity of tearing up
a motocross track without care for life and limb. The band blends a hands-on
relationship with streetpunk and hardcore with an equal passion for
nasty rock and roll. The results are one of a kind, with Chris'
tuneful, but throaty, yowl, and twangy, chickenscratch guitar
barbequing over a beefy, quick-tempo'd rhythm section.

Bo Bim
|

Lawyers and Janitors
|
|
Bo Bim
- An amazing new indie/rock/garage band. They site The Ramones, Dandy Warhols,
Queens of the Stone Age, John Frusciante, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sleater-Kinney,
Bob Dylan, Weezer, The Beatles, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, The Pixies,
Television, Tears for Fears, Refused as influences. I hear a little Mudhoney,
a little Velvet Monkeys / Don Fleming vocals in one of the songs. Really great
stuff. They're taking off like a rocket right now.
Lawyers and Janitors
- Mifflintown, Pennsylvania-based experimental rockers Lawyers and Janitors
have an altogether different approach. The trio is attempting to explore
(or create) new (or at least newer) landscapes in modern rock music,
challenging boundaries imposed by years of unimaginative music
production, and even looking at new ways to play with the foundation of music itself.
3 brothers (Luke, Sam, Matt Primak), a fantastic band.
